Insurance
Many clients ask if they can utilize their insurance benefits for therapy. The answer is yes, with a caveat.
IMPORTANT: Before choosing to use your insurance benefits, please read the section below—What You Should Know About Using Your Insurance for Therapy.
I am an out-of-network provider for many insurance companies. Check with your insurance company to make sure that your carrier provides for out-of-network benefits.
If you do decide to utilize your insurance benefits, you will still need to pay the full amount for your session just as if you were paying for the session yourself. At the end of the month, you will receive a statement that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement of your payments for therapy. (In cases of financial need, special arrangements for payment may be made.)
What You Should Know About Using Your Insurance for Therapy
Being fully informed about your payment options is important. If you plan to use your insurance there are some very important things you should understand.
Please know that in order to submit to your insurance company, you must meet the criteria for a mental health disorder, and you must be given a mental health disorder diagnosis. Once this diagnosis is given to your insurance company, it becomes a part of your permanent medical record and may affect future ratings on life and health insurance premiums.
In order to ensure complete confidentiality of your therapy sessions, you are strongly urged to pay for your sessions yourself. This is truly the only way to ensure that what you say stays between you and your therapist.
If you have any questions regarding the use of your insurance for therapy, please call and I will be happy to answer your questions or refer you to someone who can.
Good Faith Estimate of Charges For Those NOT Using Insurance
